IF YOU'RE planning to go out around the Northern Rivers over the long weekend, pack your umbrella because there's a good chance you might get wet.

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting rain for both tomorrow and Sunday at Lismore, with mainly fine weather predicted on Monday.

Tonight will be the coldest night over the long weekend, with temperatures predicted to drop to as low as seven degrees.

Tomorrow there is a 70% chance of rain, according to the bureau, with light winds and a predicted maximum of 20 degrees.

On Sunday, the bureau is predicting a 40% chance of showers in the morning and afternoon, light winds and a top of 21 degrees.

There is no rain predicted for Monday, with a mostly sunny day forecast and a top temperature of 23 degrees.
