ONE lane of the Pacific Hwy has been opened at Dirty Creek after a serious accident this morning.

Traffic will be alternating through the lane with a speed limit of 60kmh in place at the site.

8.40am:

THE Pacific Hwy remains closed in both directions at Dirty Creek where a B-double and car collided at about 3.30am today, Friday October 24.

The driver of the Holden car, believed to be a male, was reportedly airlifted and taken to the Gold Coast Hospital in a serious condition.

It is believed the man was headed north and veered on to the other side of the road where he collided with the truck.

There is diesel spilt across both lanes at the moment and emergency crews are working to clear the way to allow traffic to go through.

Diversions through Orara Wy are still in place for vehicles, except B-doubles which remain parked at either end of the crash site.

Motorists are reminded to adhere to road conditions and take it easy.

More updates as they come to hand.

6.30am:

The Pacific Highway is closed in both directions at Dirty Creek, midway between Grafton and Coffs Harbour, following a truck accident.

Emergency services and traffic crews are on site.

There are no local diversions available at this stage.

All motorists except B-Doubles can use Orara Way as an alternative route between Grafton and Coffs Harbour; B-Doubles are being parked and are advised to delay their journey.

Additionally, a truck fire at Bonville is currently affecting northbound traffic on the Pacific Highway with motorists advised to exercise caution.
