Outpouring of support for Boambee fire victims
A YOUNG Boambee East family who lost their home to a fire last Friday evening have received an outpouring of community support and donations.
Angela and Andrew White recently moved into the house on Dunlop Dr with their three kids aged 2, 5 and 7.
Almost all of the family's possessions were lost in the blaze, leaving them in significant hardship just days out from Christmas.
A Facebook page was established soon after the incident where hundreds of people have donated various personal care items, clothes and other necessities to help the White Family over Christmas and into the new year.
Angela's employer Sharni Pavitt, owner of Baby Bella, also rallied her team together to try and support her colleague's family by offering the store as a donation drop off point.
Ms Pavitt said the community support has been strong with more than two full car loads of donations dropped off over the weekend.
"The support has been fantastic ... we've got quite a few vouchers and a few people have donated cash," Ms Pavitt said.
"Most people are now bringing gift cards which is better off for her (Angela's) family."
Ms Pavitt also said the Baby Bella team are trying to get the store's suppliers to support the cause to help replace the family's pram and other essential equipment.
