Orphan kittens looking for love
STUMP, Champers, Conan, Virgil, Gray, Misty, Dusk and Jenny.
These kittens all have names, but they don’t have homes.
Animal foster carer Helen Small is trying to find suitable homes for the abandoned kittens.
Meanwhile, they frolic in a designated cat room in her Meerschaum Vale house, unaware of how lucky they are to have landed in Ms Small’s hands.
For three years, Ms Small’s house has been a sanctuary for dumped animals and with a cat litter tray in every room, she is well prepared.
Even though Ms Small loves having the cats around, she really wants to see them go to good homes.
In the lead-up to Christmas, Ms Small wanted to dissuade anyone from adopting a kitten as a gift unless they have thought it through.
“Remember, you aren’t adopting a playful kitten, you are adopting a companion who will be with you for the next 20 years,” she advised.
Since 1995, Animal Rights and Rescue Far North Coast has saved more than 10,000 unwanted animals. To adopt a pet call 6622 1881, or go along to its Pet Adoption Day today at its shelter in Three Chain Road, South Lismore, past the Youngberry’s Nursery entrance.
