Iconic muster sign changes colour

THE iconic red Muster sign that once adorned Main Stage in the Amamoor Creek State Forest has gone.

In its place is a bright yellow one to match the corporate branding of new major sponsor Optus.

Apex Muster chairman Carl Green said the colour was Optus yellow 116 and he thought the new colours freshened up Main Stage.

Mr Green said Optus sponsorship had been a shot in the arm for the Muster which, last year, didn’t have a major sponsor.

Optus, along with its sponsorship, had helped the Muster attract the Nine network’s Today Show to be telecast from the event.

The popular morning show will be beamed live nationally on Saturday and Sunday.

Mr Green said preparations for the 2010 Optus Muster were coming along well with marquees and circus tents going up this week.

He said this year, the Muster would have two front gates where all armbands would be put on patrons.

Apex will have a red and green ticket office at the main gate.

The red ticket office will be for cash and Eftpos sales while the green ticket office will be for pre-paid ticket holders.

“If you have a pre-paid ticket you will get into the Muster a lot quicker,” Mr Green said.
