Olympians join field for Australian PGA

GOLF: Australia's Rio Olympics representatives Scott Hend and Marcus Fraser will join the field for the Australian PGA Championship on the Gold Coast from December 1-4.

World No.64 Hend, from Queensland, and Victorian Fraser, ranked 103rd, will line up alongside fellow Australians Adam Scott, ranked No.6, and Marc Leishman, ranked No.49, meaning four of the top five Australian golfers in the world will take part at the Royal Pines Resort.

Hend, who has had six top-10 finishes on the European Tour this season, said he was excited to be returning to compete in his home state.

"I feel like my game is in great shape and 2016 could be my best chance of winning one of the big tournaments on home soil,” he said.

"I would love to win the Australian PGA Championship in front of a Queensland crowd; it would be a great end to my year.”
