Olive becomes a guiding light
IT'S usually the case that after graduation comes the party and for Toowoomba guide dog Olive things were no different.
"These dogs are very well trained, but when you put 16 dogs together in a small room with finger food, you're going to get some commotion," Olive's handler Danae Sweetapple said jokingly.
Olive was one of 19 guide dogs who recently graduated from their training at a ceremony in Brisbane.
The playful labrador/retriever cross will use her training to aid Ms Sweetapple until she is no longer fit to do so.
Ms Sweetapple said she could not be happier with her new companion.
"She's a wiggly one and has lots of energy which will definitely suit my active lifestyle," she said
"And despite her behaviour at the graduation, she actually does have very good party manners."
