Old Yella phone book is new best friend

LISMORE residents will be treated to a home delivery of cuteness as the co-bound Yellow Pages and White Pages books hit doorsteps from April 23.

For the first time in the iconic directories' history, the Yellow Pages and White Pages are supporting national animal welfare charity, PetRescue, in a move which will see the Lismore co-bound book cover being used to rehome some of the region's favourite four-legged friends.

The 2016 Lismore Yellow Pages and White Pages co-bound cover will feature Talaya and Isaiah and Zara Sommerville, alongside their best friend, Cindy, the bull terrier cross and staffy mix.

Residents will be greeted with a simple guide to help them find information on PetRescue in Lismore.

Sensis spokesperson, Stephen Harvy, said: "The Yellow Pages and White Pages books provide locals with the ease and convenience of finding everything they could possibly need."

"We are only too happy to lend a hand to PetRescue to heighten awareness that our significant reach provides."

Lismore local and cofounder of Wally's Doggie and Moggie Rescue, Danica Munro said: "There are a large number of unwanted or abandoned cats/kittens and dogs/puppies in the Lismore/Casino and surrounding areas."

"We have a simple message: If you purchase an animal, please have them microchipped for identification and de-sexed."
