Nominations pouring in for the 105th Kyogle’s Show

THE Kyogle Show office is a hive of activity with the 105th annual show coming up on Friday and Saturday.

Friday activities start with the novice campdraft at 7am.

This will be followed by the Jack Murray Memorial Stockhorse Challenge and Junior Challenge.

Nominations have been flowing in for these events and there will be plenty of action for competitors and spectators.

Children's equine sports events will start at noon in the pony club arena.

The pavilion will open about noon, after the judging of all sections.

A canteen and barbecue will be open all day on both days, as will the sideshows and rides.

The bar will open at 4pm, before the popular bull ride starts at 6pm, with music to follow.

This year, the championship dog show will be held over four days, from Thursday to Sunday.

On Saturday, the equestrian events will start at 8am. With three rings running, there will be plenty of events, including led and ridden classes, hacks, miniature horses, heavy horses and jumping.

Woodchops will be held throughout the day. Beef cattle judging and poultry judging will start at 9am.

Miss Tiny Toy, Miss Junior and Miss Teen nominations will be taken at the show office on Saturday from 10.30am. These categories and the Kyogle Showgirl will be announced during the official opening.

The finals of the Rixon Fencing tug-of-war will be held in the afternoon, along with the post-splitting competition.

The Graham's Concrete demolition derby rounds out the day's entertainment, following the Essential Energy fireworks.
