Man can't remember stealing car after day on moonshine

A DAY on the moonshine has led to a man being jailed until at least November 26 after he broke into a business and stole a ute.

Brian John Boon broke into the Maxim Transport car park on Davis St, Mt Larcom, on August 1 and stole a Mitsubishi ute.

Gladstone Magistrates Court heard he then lost control of the vehicle, crashed into a kerb and smashed through a locked gate.

Neighbours called police.

Boon spat at arresting officers and in the police car. He claimed he had no recollection of events because of "moonshine" consumption.
