Off the Rails: Prices up from last week’s Lismore sale

AT THE Lismore Saleyards on Tuesday, 280 cattle were sold.

There was a good yarding of vealers and prices increased on last week's good sale.

Vealers weighing in the 200 to 260kg range sold from $2.90 to $3.20/kg.

Ron Durheim's line of Limousin X sold for $3.20/kg and returned $757.

Gavin Robb's outstanding Speckled Park yearling sold for $3.08/kg and returned $1371.

Weaner steers sold exceptionally well.

Angus steers topped at $3.56/kg and returned $680. Heavy weaners sold from $820 to $950.

The cow market was solid but failed to reach the heights of last year.

Once again Alstonville dairyman Gavin Robb topped the day with an Aussie Red X cow weighing 775 kg selling for $2.26, $1753.

Don't forget Saturday's Store Sale.

Another good yarding of steers, heifers, cows with calves and a handful of bulls will be on offer.
