Off the beaten charity

PREPARATIONS for the seventh Trek Quest 4x4 Fundraising Adventure are well under way.

Having already raised $160,000 for local charities, this year the beneficiaries are OURKIDS and the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter.

"With each year (Trek Quest) has grown in size and popularity," trip co-ordinator Peter Arthur said.

"Teams will be raising funds throughout the year culminating in an eight day 4x4 Adventure Rally with the theme Australian Legends."

Starting in Grafton on September 30, teams head west to Copeton Dam, Lightning Ridge, Mitchell and then the awe-inspiring Carnarvon Gorge.

"These trips are a lot of fun and we encourage families to get out and see this beautiful country of ours," Mr Arthur said.
