Ocean Shores student blitzes rivals to secure another title
OCEAN Shores Public School athlete Mackenzey Ormiston has celebrated her latest win at the Queensland All Schools Cross Country Championships in Brisbane.
She won the 12-years girls 3000m race.
It is the third time in four years she has won her age division in the prestigious event with more than 500 entrants running on the day.
She ran and won her district cross country in Bangalow on Friday and then followed up on
Saturday in Brisbane to race again.
There were 83 of Queensland's fastest 12-year-old girls including all its national representatives from last year in the race.
After getting away to a fast start Mackenzey took the lead at the 300m mark and led the rest of the race, winning by 12 seconds.
Mackenzey will now compete at the Australian Cross Country Titles in Albany, Western Australia in
