Obama may get record book deal for his memoirs
THE change of United States presidents has sparked a book industry boom.
Outgoing President Barack Obama reportedly could be offered $27 million for his memoirs of his eight years in the White House, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The most previously paid for a presidential memoir was $20million for Bill Clinton's My Life.
Mr Obama's wife Michelle could also attract big bids for her recollections of her time as First Lady.
Sales of George Orwell's dystopian novel 1984 have soared since Donald Trump took over as US President.
As of Tuesday, the book was the sixth-best selling book on Amazon.
The novel by Orwell (pictured) features a state that distorts facts and persecutes any form of independent thought.
It also dumbs down the language to limit people's ability to think.
