NRL to investigate Bulldogs after alleged Barba assault

THE governing body's integrity unit will conduct an independent review of the Bulldogs' actions after standing down star fullback Ben Barba (pictured) earlier this year.

A report emerged in the Sydney media yesterday, claiming Barba's relationship with teammates soured over an allegation he punched a woman.

The NRL will investigate whether the Bulldogs took the appropriate actions after the alleged incident, after only recently seeing the photographic proof which was published yesterday.

"We want to ensure that every possible step is being taken for the safety of all parties," NRL chief operating officer Jim Doyle said.
