THREE players contracted to National Rugby League clubs will run out for Scotland when they take on the NSW Country Under-23s at Kingsford Smith Park, Ballina, tonight.

Centres Jarred Anderson (Sydney Roosters), Lachlan Stein (Penrith Panthers) and second-rower James Bell (New Zealand Warriors) have been named for the Rugby League World Cup warm-up game.

Bell is a second-rower who made his NRL debut in 2017, playing two games near the end of the season against the Cronulla Sharks and the Newcastle Knights.

The NSW Country team gave a good account of themselves in a losing effort when they went down 40-26 in another warm-up game against Samoa at Wagga Wagga last weekend.

Injuries have ruled out three other NRL players - Lachlan Coote, Kane Linnett and Peter Wallace - from the Scotland team.

"We have a big group of players who I know well and trust,” Scotland coach Steve McCormack said.

"They have always been there for Scotland and given it their all.

"We're under no illusions how tough it's going to be, but I also know it's going to be fantastic.”

The Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League women's premiers Byron Bay will take on the Group Two Ladies League Tag premiers Coffs Harbour while Group One and Group 18 will go head-to-head in an Under-16 trial for the Northern Rivers Country Championship side.

The women play at 4.30pm with the main game at 7pm.
