NRL clubs headed for judiciary ahead of finals series

THE Sydney Roosters and Manly are set for a show down with the NRL judiciary on Tuesday night.

Roosters forward Zane Tetevano has his finals campaign in doubt after copping a serious charge for his high hit on Titans rookie Ben Nakubuwai.

The prop would miss three weeks of football if he took the early guilty plea and while he has plead 'guilty', the club is contesting the offence.

Tetevano was hit with a reckless high tackle but the club doesn't believe it was reckless.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson said post-match that while the end result of the incident was difficult to watch, the technique from his player was textbook.

"I thought it was a really good tackle," Robinson said.

"I didn't like to see the player coming off the field like that. But it wasn't a loose tackle. He stepped in, wrapped with the arms, got him all the way to the ground.

"There was no malice in the tackle. It was a big strong firm tackle. I'm not sure about the whiplash. None of us like seeing him move off the field like that."

The Roosters host Brisbane at Allianz Stadium on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Manly is rolling the dice on Darcy Lussick.

He has pleaded not guilty to a grade one tripping charge on Panthers hooker Peter Wallace.

Lussick's tripping charge would usually be punished with a fine but with two previous recent offences to his name the Sea Eagles prop is instead facing a one-match ban if he's found guilty on Tuesday.

The Sea Eagles face Penrith on Saturday.
