Novel is ‘Harry Potter on steroids’

IT'S understandable that Graham Kenyon was a tad nervous at the launch of his new book, Goth, last week at Casino library.

It is his first published novel and an appreciative, intimate group of about 10 people gathered to hear him talk about its creation.

"The development of Goth was out of an amalgam of a number of stories and ideas," he said.

"It only took 10 years."

With another book about to be published and a third in the pipeline, Mr Kenyon knows his creativity is flowing.

"I don't think I will ever be finished (writing)," he laughed.

"My style is very narrative and descriptive."

Critics have described Goth as 'Harry Potter on steroids. Fast and spooky.'

His literary influences include Stephen King and Dean Koontz.

While he currently lives on the Gold Coast, Mr Kenyon describes the Richmond Valley as his spiritual home.

"I've had different connections with Richmond Valley Council and each time I come back it's like coming home," he said.

Goth is on sale at amazon.com.
