Northern Rivers Jobs Plan gets funding

ACTING PREMIER Andrew Stoner and Lismore MP Thomas George today announced funding for eight new projects under the Northern Rivers Jobs Plan.

The extra funding will create 70 new full-time jobs between Grafton and Tweed areas, with total government investment in the project now totalling over $618,000.

Mr Stoner said the jobs plan was established to create new and sustainable jobs and encourage business growth in the Northern Rivers Region in a time of significant structural change, adding that today's announcement was proof the scheme was working.

"The announcement today of more than 70 new jobs in addition to those previously announced demonstrates the NSW Government's ongoing commitment to the region."

Seventeen new positions have been created in the Lismore area with a further 25 created in Ballina and Byron Bay.
