CHERRY SUNSET: It sounds like a cocktail from a tropical resort, right? That’s because Cherry Sunset will be just that, a chilled and delicious way to spend your Sunday afternoon in Ballina. Cherry Street Sports Club will unveil a Sunday afternoon jam session on its back deck on April 24. Ballina musician, organiser and host of Cherry Sunset, Sam Fletcher (pictured), said the event would have a line-up of musical acts consisting of home-grown local artists and their original material. The events will also include films by local film makers. The first session will include music by Jock Barnes (Lennox Head), Red Whyte (Bells Beach), Sam Fletcher (Ballina) and surf films by Marcus Baker. Held on the last Sunday of every month at the Cherry Street Sports Club from 2pm.
