North Coast road to close for finishing touches

A SECTION of Angels Beach Dr in Ballina is set to be closed for three days next week to allow final works on the new roundabout at the Links Ave to be completed.

The roundabout construction zone will be closed from August 8 to 11 for the final application of asphalt.

Traffic will be diverted as follows:

  • Ballina traffic to and from Lennox Head use The Coast Rd;
  • North Angels Estate and Silver Gull Dr Estate motorists use The Coast Rd;
  • East Ballina (Lakeside) motorists heading towards Ballina Island can use Angels Beach Dr.
  • East Ballina (Lakeside) motorists heading towards Lennox Head will need to use The Coast Rd via the Manly St intersection.

The asphalt overlay will mark the end of a four-month project.

Council thanked motorists for their continued patience and understanding.

The Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) identified Angels Beach Dr as a black spot and allocated $2 million to Ballina Shire Council for the upgrade.
