Norris scores 64 to top field

KEITH Norris is celebrating after finishing top dog at Casino Golf Club's latest action.

Norris fired a net 64 to take the best score of the day crown at Saturday's single stroke event.

That effort was enough to secure the B grade title, with Wayne Nowland finishing runner-up four strokes back.

Lovely sunny conditions made for an enjoyable day of competition, with the course drying out after last week's storms. Dave Kennedy finished on 68 to take a hard-fought A grade.

Noel Kinsley took second spot, a shot further back.

More close play took place in C grade before Jim Moffit emerged victorious on 70.

Terry Gosling was one shot back.

Action continues at the club this Saturday with a single stableford contest.

Meanwhile, players keen to test their hard-hitting skills are in for a treat.

Byron Bay Golf Club is hosting its latest Backmarker Challenge this Friday.

The stroke event will feature extra tough holes for some testing competition.

Places are still available for the event at the Broken Head Road club.
