Noosa Heads surfer has disappeared off Bali

NOOSA Heads man Peter Maynard has been reporting missing off a Balinese island, with police describing it as a "mystery disappearance".

It is believed Maynard was reported missing by the hotel after he failed to check out.

His possessions were left inside the room.

News Corp is reporting Mr Maynard was visiting the Nusa Indah Bungalo on the island of Nusa Lembongan, off Bali.

According to News Corp, the Sunshine Coast man was at the hotel from August 23, due to leave on August 28.

"When we checked the hotel room, all the stuff was still in the room. Including a camera Canon 500D, iPad, iPod, glasses, bag, surfboard, handphone, two shoes, five T-shirts, five shorts, and one towel. And a wallet which includes cash money Rp 3,429,000 ($312). We also found his passport," Mr Suarsika told News Corp.

The resort describes itself as a "personal little seaside paradise" that offers to help guests "feel the same enchantment that we do".
