No Saturday night fever for jubliant Leicester City boss

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri said he would not party too hard despite his team's remarkable English Premier League success.

The Foxes beat Everton 3-1 to celebrate the title in style at a packed King Power Stadium, with Jamie Vardy, who also missed a penalty, taking his goal tally for the season to 24 with a brace.

Veteran Andy King, the club's current longest- serving player, scored the other goal before Ranieri and his skipper Wes Morgam lifted the EPL trophy.

Ranieri said he would allow himself a small celebration, adding: "It will be a nice celebration but not a disco. No more than 10 times in my life have I been in a disco."

At the bottom, Sunderland can send north-east rival Newcastle and Norwich City down with wins in their final two games at home against Everton on Thursday morning (AEST) and at Watford on Sunday, after a come-from-behind 3-2 victory at home to Chelsea.

Jermain Defoe scored the winner for the Black Cats, his 18th goal of the season.

Sunderland moved out of the relegation zone, a point clear of Newcastle, which drew 0-0 at Aston Villa, and four points above Norwich City which lost 1-0 at home to Manchester United.

At Upton Park, Swansea damaged West Ham's Champions League chances with a superb 4-1 victory to move up to 11th, while Crystal Palace had a 2-1 home victory over Stoke.

Bournemouth and West Brom drew 1-1 in the day's other game.
