No jab, no pay laws to come into effect on January 1

PARENTS who don't vaccinate their children will stop receiving childcare benefits from January 1, after the "no jab, no pay" laws passed the Senate today.

AAP has reported the legislation will stop parents from receiving childcare benefits, rebates and the Family Tax Benefit A end-of-year supplement if they refuse to immuse their kids.

The legislation passed the lower house in October.

The changes start on January 1, 2016, and only parents with valid medical reasons will be exempt from the crackdown.
