No greater feeling working in Ballina

AFTER 25 years as the lending manager at the Greater Building Society in Ballina, Terry Chandler is celebrating the fact he has helped more than 5,600 people with a loan to buy a home.

Mr Chandler returned to Ballina in 1987 to take up the position of branch manager after spending 15 years working in banks in Lismore, Armidale, Grafton, Wollongong, Toukley on the NSW Central Coast and in Sydney.

"I worked in all those different places but I have loved living in Ballina Shire and working for the Greater so much that I have stayed put for 25 years," Mr Chandler said.

Mr Chandler was recognised at a special dinner for long serving Greater Building Society staff in Newcastle last week.

"Terry has done a fantastic job helping people in Ballina and the branch has grown from having two staff to seven," said Greater Building Society CEO Don Magin said

In March of this year Mr Chandler moved into the new role of lending manager which he said will allows him to focus on his passion for helping people to buy their dream home, investment property, car or to start a business. Born in Mullumbimby, Mr Chandler has been involved with the Lennox Head National Surfing Reserve, Lennox-Ballina Boardriders Club, Far North Coast Water Polo and the Lennox Art Board.
