No excuse not to be carolling

PLENTY of Carols by Candlelight events are happening around the Lower and Mid Richmond and everyone is invited to get out their best singing voice and join in the spirit of Christmas.

 Woodburn

The Woodburn Carols by Candlelight, organised by the Woodburn Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Richmond Valley Council, will take place in the Riverside Park on Saturday, December 15 from 7-10pm. As well as traditional carol-singing, with music provided by the duo of Kirstin and Ryan, there will be performances by the choirs of St Joseph's Primary School and Woodburn Public School, as well as dance items from Just Dance! and the Pam Bellingham School of Dance. The SES is running a barbecue from 6.30pm, and it is hoped that Santa will make an appearance. Bring a blanket and spend a lovely family evening on Woodburn's riverbank.

 Evans Head

The Mid Richmond Neighbourhood Centre and the Casino/Evans Surf Club present Evans Head Community Carols on Wednesday, December 12, at 7pm.

The children of St Joseph's Primary School, the Evans River School choir, Snappers Playgroup and Evans Head pre-school have prepared something special to share with our community. Carols will be performed by Carol Holmes, Tricia Cook, Vanessa Crisp and Sonia Price and Elizabeth Sneesby will be supporting them on keyboards with the sound by John Southon.

The surf clubs will be running a barbecue and the Surf Club cafe will be serving its full menu, or you might prefer to bring a picnic and comfy chairs, get the kids some glow sticks and settle in for the show… and if you're really good, Santa might bring you a surprise!

 Coraki

The Coraki Lions Club will hold Carols by Candlelight on Sunday, December 9 on the lawn at Coraki Primary School.

Bring along rugs or chairs and enjoy carols in the open air with music by Sylvia Nolan's Dynamic Duo.

A barbecue meal and hot chips will be available from 5pm.

Santa will be going along with treats for the kids and there will also be Lions cakes available for sale.

Coraki Lions' huge Christmas stocking raffle is also on and tickets will be on sale every Saturday morning outside SPAR Supermarket.

Don't forget the Christmas Light five $50 random draws.
