Woman who stabbed her partner not charged

POLICE have not laid charges over an alleged stabbing in Redbank Plains early Sunday morning.

A police spokeswoman said a woman allegedly stabbed a man in the chest at a home on Harold Rhinehart Dr just before 1am.

Inspector Keith McDonald told reporters that when paramedics arrived they found a 25-year-old man with two stab wounds to the chest.

He was taken to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital with non life-threatening injuries and his partner was arrested.

Inspector McDonald told the media the stabbing occurred after the couple became involved in a fight.

"There is a 25-year old female, who is assisting police with our enquiries; it would appear the incident has resulted from a domestic dispute that has occurred at the residence," he said.

The man did not make a complaint to police, so the woman was released without charge.
