No bail for pair over drug bust

TWO men have been refused bail following the seizure of drugs with a street value of $260,000 at Cudgera Creek.

Jules King, 28, of Robina and Stephen Morrissey, 35, of Caniaba were arrested on Tuesday when police stopped a car on the Pacific Hwy, finding 42 grams of crystal methamphetamine or “ice”, 484 grams of cocaine and more than $9000 in cash.

Both men were arrested and taken to Tweed Heads police station where they were charged with a number of drug-related offences.

Investigators also executed a search warrant at Caniaba where they seized a further quantity of drugs, including 15.5 grams of ice, 475 grams of cannabis, 2.7 grams of cannabis resin, 13 oxycontin tablets and 74 cannabis plants.

Detectives believe the arrests have made a significant dent in the drug supply.Investigations are continuing and further arrests have not been ruled out.

Both men will appear in Lismore District Court on September 20.
