Night of metal-crunching mayhem
THE NSW Four-Cylinder Sedan Demolition Derby Championship will be contested at Lucas Oil Lismore Speedway tomorrow night.
The metal-crunching state title event will bring together the best bash-and-crash merchants in the business and will be a case of last man standing wins.
It will be a battle to the finish on a night that is full of fun-filled family entertainment featuring the Monster Trucks.
The speedway racing part of the program will be highlighted by the running of the Northern Rivers Classic for AMCA Sedans.
A fireworks display also will be a part of the show.
"I think there is something for everyone," promoter David Lander said yesterday.
"We will have the spectacular, flame-throwing Jet Car, which has to be seen to be believed, especially performing its car meltdown stunt.
"There also will be the roll-over truck as part of the evening's variety show. We also have a good speedway support card to the AMCA main event."
Interest in the AMCA division will centre on the Northern Rivers Classic with a number of contenders.
Shane Newstead is a strong favourite after dominating main events at Lismore and Grafton this season.
Former national champion Jim Knight, state titleholder Nick Stubbs, Stuart Hall and Tony Blanch also come into calculations.
Racing for Litre Sprints, Junior Sedans, Street Stocks and National Four Cylinder Sedans also is programmed.
Gates will open at 3pm with the first race at 6pm.
