The importance of every drop

Water is an essential element. We depend on it but we take it for granted and we waste it. We expect to turn on the tap and out it comes: clean, clear plentiful water. However the demand on water for food production, energy, industrial and domestic uses is increasing. The needs of our growing world are escalating, with rapid urbanization, pollution and climate change all threatening water resources. Not all human uses of water are positive. Pollution and mismanagement have threatened the water supply of this planet. It is important we manage water supplies more carefully not just for ourselves but to maintain healthy ecosystems.
