New section of Pacific Highway to open this afternoon

WORK is almost complete on the second stage of the 2.3km Pimlico to Teven project as part of the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway upgrade.

From 2pm today southbound traffic will be moved onto the new northbound Pacific Highway with one lane operating in each direction.

The completion of stage two will allow the final 1.3km of southbound lanes to be built on the Pacific Highway as part of stage three.

Night work will also take place on the Bruxner Highway for the upgrade tomorrow and next Wednesday, between 6pm and 6am, weather permitting.

Work to asphalt the Bruxner Highway near Teven Rd will be carried out with temporary lane closures in place during the work.

There will be some noise associated with the work and every effort will be made to minimise its impact.

Road users are advised to allow extra travel time, follow the direction of traffic controllers and keep to the reduced speed limits where in place.
