New roof for CWA Hall

WOODBURN CWA Hall is undergoing a much- needed makeover, beginning with a whole new roof.

Thanks to a grant of $43,000 provided by the Community Building Partnership Program, locals and those passing through Woodburn would have seen the scaffolding around the much-loved hall as workers ripped off the old roof last week.

"We knew the roof needed fixing as it leaked like a sieve," Woodburn Chamber of Commerce president Daniel Simpson said.

At a cost of $18,000 the first stage has now been completed.

"After the (local government) elections, as it is used as a polling place, we will be putting on a new deck and creating a new entry," Mr Simpson said. "We are then going to move the Visitor Information Centre in there."

The total cost of renovations will be estimated at $50,000.
