New GM for Tenterfield Council

TENTERFIELD Shire Council mayor Toby Smith announced today the council has appointed a new general manager.

Jim Gossage, who has been council’s director of corporate services since September 4, 2006, will take up the position of general manager during the next week.

“I would like to congratulate Jim Gossage on becoming general manager and I look forward to maintaining our great working relationship which has been forged over many years during his role as director of corporate services. I am sure that our working relationship will continue to grow with Jim in the role of general manager of Tenterfield Shire Council,” Cr Smith said.

Mr Gossage has a wealth of local government experience. He commenced with Ullan Country Council in Gulgong during 1966, and since 1977 has held senior positions of chief clerk, Shire clerk and general manager at what is now Griffith City Council, Rylstone Council, Yallaroi Council, North West Weeds County Council, and he was deputy general manager of Gwydir Shire Council before relocating to Tenterfield.
