New coach joins The Voice Australia

NINE has confirmed fan-favourite Seal won't be returning to The Voice Australia in 2018.

Instead, the broadcaster has announced US singer-songwriter Usher will claim the vacant spinning red chair on the reality talent show, according to Woman's Day. He will join fellow hosts Delta Goodrem, Kelly Rowland and Boy George for the show's seventh season.

Usher, 39, is a global superstar known for hits such as Yeah!, OMG, My Boo and DJ Got Us Fallin in Love.

The father-of-two is currently embroiled in a $25 million lawsuit with his former flame, Laura Helm. She has accused the star of giving her herpes and claims to have slept with him on two separate occasions, according to The Sun.

Usher, who has been married to his current wife Grace Miguel since September 2015 has repeatedly denied the allegations.

"Usher will defend himself vigorously in court against these opportunistic claims and we will not comment further on private legal matters," his attorney Zia Modabber told TMZ in September.

Judah Kelly, 20, took out the competition to become the winner of this year's The Voice Australia.

He beat Hoseah Partsch (Team George), Fasika Ayallew and Lucy Sugermanto to claim the reality singing competition's crown.

Kelly was mentored by Delta Goodrem, whose contestant Alfie Arcuri won last year.
