New classrooms for Byron

TENDERS have been called for a project to provide two new classrooms at Byron Bay Public School.

Under the project, existing demountable buildings will be replaced by a permanent building.

Labor duty MLC for the Ballina electorate, Amanda Fazio, said it would 'enhance' the school environment.

“The new classrooms will be housed in a Modular Design Range building, which will provide modern and permanent classrooms for the school,” she said.

“Modular Design Range buildings are pre-fabricated off site and then delivered and installed at the school.”

The new classrooms will be ready for students during Term 2 this year.

The project has been jointly funded by the Federal and State Governments.
