The film will reunite actors Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth and includes actor Patrick Dempsey.

The film is directed by Sharon Maguire.

The storyline follows the adventures of British publishing executive Bridget Jones as she enters her 40s.

This is not a film adaptation of Helen Fielding's "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy", the third novel in the Bridget Jones series, released in 2013. Instead it's based on an original screenplay which Fielding wrote with David Nicholls.

The first trailer for the film will be released tomorrow, March 24.
