Netball international goes back to her Little As roots

LITTLE Athletics competitors on the Northern Rivers have the chance to win a training session with Australian Diamonds netballer Kimberlee Green.

Green, who participated at the St George Little Athletics Club in Sydney when she was growing up, will travel to the clubs of the five winners and lead personalised training sessions.

It's all part of the Little Jetstars competition.

Little Athletics clubs on the Northern Rivers include Ballina, Casino, Evans Head and Lismore.

Jetstar Australia chief commercial officer Catriona Larritt said the Little Jetstars competition was going from strength to strength.

"Through our continued partner- ship with Jetstar Little Athletics Australia we look forward to cement- ing our commitment to Australian communities,” Ms Larritt said.

"We are delighted to be helping little athletes reach for the stars.”

Kimberlee Green is excited about getting back to her grass roots where it all began.

"Little Athletics holds very fond memories for me and is such a great start for any kid who loves sport,” she said.

"I had a lot of fun in my days at St George Little Athletics club and it was a great excuse to stay healthy and get involved in the community from a young age.”

The first of five Little Jetstars competition winners will be announced at the beginning of November and the remaining winners each month through to March.

With 100,000 participants across 540 centres, Little Athletics is a uniquely Australian program based on track and field events that is open to kids between 5 and 15 years.

To enter the competition, registered Little Athletics participants should head to www.littlejetstars.com.au and describe in 25 words or less how Little Athletics will help them become a big hero. Entries close February 28.
