Netball course to improve ability and knowledge of umpires

NETBALL lovers across the FNC are invited to a helpful scheme aimed at boosting the skills of prospective officials.

The Netball New South Wales Rules in Action course aims to improve the abilities and knowledge of umpires.

Participants wanting to earn further accreditation and badges are welcome to the day, which is one of four being held at regional centres across the state.

The event will be held at a to-be-confirmed venue in Grafton on Saturday, October 12 (10am).

Registrations for the course close on Friday, September 27 (5pm).

Meanwhile, the first of three registration dates for the summer netball competition at the Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre takes place this Thursday.

Female players aged 16 and over are welcome to play in the competition, which offers light-hearted action and valuable match experience over the coming months.

The competition gets started on Thursday, October 24 and matches will be held at 5.30pm every week.

Two further sign-on sessions will be held on Friday, October 4 and Friday, October 18.

All three session last from 6-7pm.
