Nats endorse Cansdell for State

NATIONALS members in the Clarence and Richmond Valleys gathered in Casino over the weekend and unanimously endorsed sitting MP Steve Cansdell as their candidate in next March’s NSW State Election.

The Nationals Clarence Electorate Council chairman Jeremy Challacombe, of South Grafton, said Mr Cansdell had been doing an outstanding job for the local community and this had been reflected in big increases to his vote.

“Steve is definitely a people’s pollie – he won the seat from Labor in 2003 and was re-elected with a massively increased majority in 2007,” Mr Challacombe said.

“Still we are taking nothing for granted and will work hard to get Steve back in."
