Nashville lifestyle suits Aussie Price

RICK Price has just come off a run of sold-out tour dates in the US with Tommy Emmanuel. He's now preparing to tour Australia.

You're touring Australia throughout October, are you looking forward to getting back on the road?

Yes. Performance is my favourite part of my job. Connecting with the audience - that's what it's all about for me.

You're currently based in Nashville, what's it like living in one of the music capitals of the world?

Nashville is a very easy city to live in. It's a bit like a big country town. Folks are very friendly here and of course there's a lot of great music being made here every day, so it's an inspiring place to live.

You've spent a lot of your time in the past few years recording and producing for other artists - how has that experience been?

I really enjoy working with other artists. It's nice break away from my own material, and I get to play an entirely different role.

Are you planning on releasing any new music in the coming months?

Yes. I am about to release the first single from my upcoming album. The song is called Work That Fire. The album will be released in February 2015.

In 2011 you toured around Australia in a tribute to John Denver - how was that experience?

I learned a lot about John's music and his life behind the scenes. Again, it was a much-enjoyed departure from my own music.
