Police investigate after man drives car into Tweed River
POLICE are investigating after a car ended up in the Tweed River off Dulguigan Rd, Tumbulgum on Wednesday morning.
Sergeant Paul Thierjung said the vehicle crashed into the river about 8am Wednesday morning.
He said the 37-year old male driver appears to have lost consciousness before veering off the road.
It's understood he received no major injuries and there were no passengers.

A VEHICLE is barely afloat in the Tweed River near Tumbulgum, with police currently on scene.
All that's visible of the mostly-sunken car is the roof and boot, which appears to be open.
It's understood the car has been in the river since Tuesday night.
It's believed police will soon attempt to remove the car from the river.
