Myer website back up after Christmas Day crash

THE Myer website is up and running again after being down for more than a week since it crashed on Christmas Day.

The department store says it is monitoring the site to check its performance, and is putting its stocktake sale launch deals up today as the website was down during the traditional Boxing Day sales day.

Myer has also promised its free delivery until Sunday January 5 in attempt to mollify customers annoyed by its website outage.

The website was taken offline by the company after complaints by customers on Christmas Day that it was running slowly and freezing.

The technical issues happened around the time end-of-year sales kicked off, but Myer says the glitches in its site were not related to the volume of traffic.
