Mutilated cat found after Gold Coast car fire

A SEVERELY mutilated cat has been found after a car was destroyed by fire in the driveway of an Arundel home on the Gold Coast.

Just before 2.45am, police were called to an address on Hazel Court in response to a vehicle on fire in the front driveway.

It is believed that a loud explosion alerted residents and neighbours to the vehicle on fire.

Upon arriving at the address, police located a deceased cat near the vehicle, the body of which was severely mutilated.

Graffiti was also left on an exterior wall of the house.

Nobody was injured during this incident, investigations are continuing.
