Muster to go national via Today

OPTUS Muster organiser Brian Sansom says this year's Muster is set to give the event unprecedented national attention.

The Nine Network's popular breakfast show Today will be beamed lived from the Amamoor Creek State Forest as part of a deal with the Muster's major sponsor Optus.

Mr Sansom said the decision by Nine to beam live from the Muster would be great for the event.

“The important thing is it is not only the Muster that will benefit from the exposure, but the whole Gympie region,” Mr Sansom said.

“It is quite unique for any event in regional Queensland.

“We will be the envy of a lot of city events,” he said.

Muster patrons will get a chance to be a part of the live television audience on Saturday and Sunday, while Muster musicians will perform on the show.

The 2010 Optus Muster has the largest media interest ever according to Samson.

He says, putting aside the Today Show commitment, WIN TV, CMT and ABC Landline will air Muster specials and the whole event will be aired live over the radio.

The Gympie Times has come onboard this year with an increased Muster presence on the internet.

Along with The Gympie Times daily paper, which includes Muster stories from the campsites along with artist interviews, The Gympie Times website will include content updates including photo galleries, stories, star interviews and video footage.
