Musos offered overseas tour

LOCAL hardcore, heavy metal band Moans Like Lisa has only been together for a year and has already been offered the opportunity to take part in an overseas promo tour.

The five members Kurt Tester, Jeremy Anderson, Jay Aarts, Jack Horn and Connor Byrnes all grew up around the Northern Rivers area and were excited when Indonesia's First Blast Records contacted them about a week long, six show minimum tour during September next year.

Lead guitarist Jeremy said that it was an amazing opportunity for all of them but trying to organise everything and get over to Indonesia was just another thing they needed to do.

The boys are currently unsigned but they are young, ambitious and with in excess of 600 likes on their Facebook page, they are well on their way to a potentially big music career.

Kurt, the vocalist of the band, said: "We are trying to make a musical scene in Evans Head."

He wants to generate more opportunities for their genre of music and "create a musical scene in this region".

Despite being unpaid gigs, Moans Like Lisa have featured at events such as Evans Head's Crankfest and the Which Way Festival.

Normally they just perform at local venues including the Byron's Youth Cafe where they have shared the stage with bands like Emerald Vale, Enemy of Mine and I Shall Devour.

While trying to finish their debut EP and continuing to promote themselves, they have also started to organise their first official music video, hoping to start earning some money.

Jay said: "Our plan is to shoot a video in the Nimbin bowl. Skaters all around and just good vibes. We like to party and we love our metal".

An invite to anyone and everyone wanting to help out with the filming can be found on the bands Facebook page: https:// http://www.facebook.com/
