Mum finds razor blades in kids' jeans while shopping

LAURA Stockdale got the shock of her life when she was shopping for her daughter at the Kmart Caloundra store.

"I was in Kmart Caloundra about 9.15am this morning looking for some warm clothes for my daughter," Ms Stockdale said.

"I went to the row of jeans and found a pair in her size (girls size 10), I put my hand in the pocket to test the depth of the pockets and felt something hard and spikey. As I pulled my hand out I grabbed what was in there and it was a razor blade. I then looked in the pocket and there were four others in the same pocket.

"I was in shock and thought I should take some pictures before I proceeded to take them to the change room service assistant who took the pants off me and said she would take it up with her manager."

Ms Stockdale said she was glad she had found the blades and not a child and warned other shoppers to be aware.

"It's very frightening," she said.

"I'm just glad I found them and not a young child trying them on.

"I had a quick look and couldn't see anymore in any of the other pairs but there are a lot of jeans there.

"Always check your kids clothes when buying from here. There seem to be some real twisted people out there."

A Kmart spokeswoman said that they were unable comment on the incident as it was now a police matter.
