Mullum Music Fest mentors announced

THE Mullum Music Festival has announced the winners of this year's mentorship program.

Matilda Dods from Cape Byron Steiner School won the blues and roots category, giving her the chance to be mentored by Mama Kin.

Annie Plummer, also from Cape Byron Steiner School, will be mentored by Tin Pan Orange after winning the Singer Songwriter category.

Reilly Fitzallan, of Lismore, will be mentored by The Voice contestant Darren Percival and Ballina/ Alstonville band North Wall will be mentored by Joe Robinson.

Julia and Deana Batt took out the under 15's category and will be mentored by the Scarlett School.

The program, which is in its third year, connects established musicians with budding musos from the Northern Rivers region.

Organisers said the quality of applications was excellent this year and that online applications were of a very high standard.

Winners in each category will play a set at next week's festival.
