Mt Warning PTSD hiker donates to Westpac chopper rescuers

THE war veteran who was rescued from Mt Warning on Monday while suffering a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder related attack, has given back to his rescuers.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter have posted on Facebook that they received a visit from Aaron.

"For many past patients a visit to our base provides a form of closure to what can be a traumatic experience," the choppers Facebook page read.

"Today we were lucky enough to receive an unexpected visit from Aaron "Dogga" who only days ago was retrieved from Mt Warning.

"Aaron generously donated a piece of Michael Schumacher memorabilia for the service to auction.

"Your kind donation is much appreciated Aaron, and will help raise vital funds to ensure we can continue to respond whenever life is threatened.
