Mrs Sippy makes waves in Bali

MOVE over Ku De Ta and Potato Head, Mrs Sippy is the newest and hippest venue to rock Bali's vibrant Seminyak scene.

Opened just a few weeks ago, the stylish pool club is already creating waves among tourists and ex-pats who have flocked to the iconic venue to soak up, not only the rays, but the good vibes and chilled atmosphere.

The Bali spin-off of Double Bay's Mrs Sippy, the giant-scale venue is the latest Australian invasion of the holiday isle's burgeoning hospitality scene.

Designed by Akin Creative and co-owned by Andrew Stanway and Ben May, Mrs Sippy Bali is a glamorous and stylish oasis with a distinct Mediterranean-Mykonos feel.

Boasting one of Bali's largest saltwater pools (800sqm) it's surrounded by sand, gardens and shady, swaying palm trees.

Sit poolside on one of the gorgeous cane daybeds or cabanas, shaded by large umbrellas, or wallow in the pool with a chilled cocktail or two - think cinnamon and orange mojito or a French martini.

With seating for up to 600 people, the state-of-the-art kitchen features a five-metre grill and a pizzaiolo flown in from Naples.

Talented chefs deliver a classic poolside menu which includes delicious fresh salads, lots of succulent seafood, pizzas, burgers and grilled options including giant octopus, tiger prawns, white snapper and whole organic baby chicken.

But the most impressive feature of this sprawling pool club is the iconic dive tower with 1m, 3m and 5m heights.

On my visit to Mrs Sippy last week, my brave seven-year-old grandson took to the dive tower like a duck to water and braved the five-metre drop without a second thought.

His bravado earnt him a huge round of applause.

"Mrs Sippy Bali is all about our guests having a great time, with music, food, drinks and one of the best pools in Bali," co-owner Mr Stanway said.

"It's all about giving people an amazing experience."

Co-owner Ben described the Mrs Sippy location in Bali as an 'oasis'.

"It's very much an escape from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak," he said.

"We have retained, where possible, that oasis feeling, built a huge pool with beach entry, and even though the site is vast, the whole feel and vibe is one of being on holiday."

With an events calendar of parties and international DJs (Sneaky Sound System has already performed), Mrs Sippy is the newest and most exciting place to kick back and enjoy Bali's good vibes.

. Mrs Sippy is open from 12pm to 12am, seven days and is located at Jalan Taman Ganesha, Gang Gagak 8, Seminyak. Phone +623613351079. Entry is free.
